Why it's in the kit

One charger, all devices. The Nexode replaces the MacBook brick, iPhone charger, and anything else I used to carry separately. 100W means the MacBook still fast-charges, and the two USB-C + two USB-A ports mean a colleague can plug in too. GaN makes it small enough that I don't resent it in the bag.

How I run it

Stays in the travel kit full-time, not the studio — the studio has a CalDigit TS4 for desk charging. On the road, it's the single plug for the entire desk: MacBook on one USB-C, iPhone on the other, Apple Watch via the A port with a spare for anything else.

What I almost bought

  • Anker 737 GaNPrime 120W — Slightly more powerful but significantly bulkier in the bag.

If you only ever charge one device at a time, a single-port 30W brick costs $15.
