Aputure Amaran 60c

RGBWW in a palm-sized fixture — hair light, travel key, or accent.

$139

Why it's in the kit

The Key Light Airs are the studio foundation, but they stay mounted. The 60c goes with me — it's the accent light for a backlit interview on location, the color wash on a hotel wall, or the quick fill that fits in the laptop pocket. RGBWW means I can dial any color temperature or hue without gels.

How I run it

Hair light with a small softbox on a lightweight stand behind the subject. RGB mode for background washes on stream — the kind of color the Key Lights can't do. Travels in the Peak Design Field Pouch.

What I almost bought

  • SmallRig RC 60B — Dual-voltage but bi-color only — no RGB for creative washes.

Skip it if

If you only shoot in a fixed studio with permanent lighting, the Key Lights already cover you.

Strengths

  • + RGBWW with green-magenta correction — full creative control
  • + Bowens-mount compatible — fits existing modifiers

Trade-offs

  • Fan noise is noticeable in dead-quiet recording rooms
